The 2018 EnergieGenie prize for innovation was awarded to Fröling for its T4e woodchip boiler. The boiler features an integrated e-particle separator, innovative air distribution control, a high efficiency motor, components with low electricity demand and an integrated system to increase the return flow temperature. Ignition of the boilers takes place using the residual embers.

The wood-chip fuelled CHP 50 fixed-bed gasifier features a thermal output of 110 kW and an electrical output of approximately 50 kW. The unit exhibits a high overall efficiency, a robust industry motor, ignition with wood gas and is available in a pre-commissioned and ready-to-go compact container solution.

The OEC and four biomass boiler manufacturers from the Oekoenergie-Cluster (Fröling, Hargassner, ÖkoFEN and Windhager) were present at the important conference/expo "North East Biomass Heating Expo" in Portland/Maine. They presented their products at the expo and are interested in the New England market with its significant potential for modern automatic biomass heating systems. Christiane Egger from the OEC team was invited as a keynote speaker for the conference.

• Froling started business in the US in 2008 with log boilers with its partner Tarm Biomass.
• In 2009, Froling launched the P4 pellets boiler on the US market. It covers a heat need of up to 200,000 BTU with a single boiler and up to 800,000 BTU with a cascade of four units.
• Froling has now a nationwide dealer network that has been trained.
