FH Wels: Research project "SOLEX"

In the "SOLEX" project, vacuum tube collectors and a mirror module including testing and laboratory equipment will be installed at the campus in Wels. Processes such as the drying of foods and products, cleaning, fermentation, steam generation as well as solar cooling and district heating will be studied. Systems and their components will be tested along with the interaction with solar heat generation. The test station will cover both low and medium temperature ranges up to 200 °C.

FH Wels: new bachelor Electrical Engineering

The new international bachelor programme "Electrical Engineering" was launched in October at the FH Wels. This international-oriented programme is offered in English and focuses on modern and reliable electricity supply. In addition, to the topics of electricity distribution and energy transition, emphasis is put on smart grids, e-mobility and improving integration of renewable energy.

FH Wels: New master programme in Sustainable Energy Systems

The new master's programme "Sustainable Energy Systems", is now offered in English at the University of Applied Science of Upper Austria (FH Wels). It provides students with comprehensive knowledge in the fields of renewable energy technology and management of energy projects. Furthermore, the replacement of traditional energy systems through sustainable and efficient systems is a main focus in the programme’s curriculum.

FH Wels: new study programme

The Strasbourg INSA Institute and the FH Wels have collaborated in the development of a Franco-Austrian double-degree master's programme on eco-energy technology. This programme, which starts in October 2013, will allow students to acquire two academic master degrees.
