EWS: new service "DeCarb"

The EWS offers new services that help companies with climate protection. EWS supports companies in establishing their corporate carbon footprint and is available to answer questions about carbon accounting, company climate policy and carbon neutrality. With these services, EWS brings the objective of achieving complete decarbonisation of all business sectors by 2040 in the forefront.

EWS: 5 LiDAR devices in use

EWS customers have access to five LiDAR units (4 x Windcube V2 FCR, 1 x Windcube V2) with autonomous electricity supply. Accuracy, compactness and admit-free installation regardless of the site are key characteristics of LiDAR windmills. EWS offers LiDAR measurements as an accredited service for various applications. The measuring devices are rented on a weekly or monthly basis and managed by EWS.

Energiewerkstatt Consulting: Accredited testing centre

Since the end of 2015, the "EWS Testing Center" is accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025/2005. The engineering office offers assessment services with remote sensing devices and measuring masts as well as the determination and evaluation of site-specific wind potential and energy yields.
EWS also offers services of accredited sound emission measurements and tonality analyses. The company also assists with officially prescribed assessments, sound reduction, produces test reports as a guarantee and provides facts that ensure that the contracts with the manufacturers are met.

Energiewerkstatt Consulting: plus-energy office building

The Energiewerkstatt office building in Munderfing, designed by ARCH+MORE, was recently opened and now offers pace for 47 employees. The main structure was erected with Eder blocks (U-value 0.15 W/m²K). 100% of the buildings energy demand is supplied with renewable energy sources: automatic pellet boiler, thermal solar collectors, PV installation and 20,5 kWh lithium battery for electricity storage. The result is a "plus-energy" building that has an energy performance indicator of 9.1 kWh/m²a and offers comfortable working space.

Energiewerkstatt: Breaking ground for the wind farm Munderfing

The ground breaking ceremony for the Munderfing wind farm took place recently. Five wind turbines with a total capacity of 15 MW are being erected and are scheduled to come into operation in the spring of 2014. The municipality owns three quarters of the wind farm. The remaining quarter is owned by Energiewerkstatt GmbH. Energiewerkstatt Consulting GmbH is managing the project.

Energiewerkstatt: LIDAR measure system

Forest areas offer an interesting potential for the development of wind energy utilisation. In order to exactly know the available blast rate, it is crucial to have the optimal measuring instrument. Therefore, the Energiewerkstatt implemented the research project "Wind in forests". The aim of the project is to identify an optimal measurement and calculation method: Windcube V2, a Doppler LIDAR measuring instrument of the latest generation, that is able to measure wind speed and direction up to 200 meters above ground and at 12 different heights at the same time. The portable device can be installed easily, even in rough terrain.
