International Training Seminar Biomass Heating 2014 OEC-News: May 2014

An international training seminar on biomass heating is organised by the OÖ Energiesparverband / Ökoenergie-Cluster from 8 – 11 September 2014 in Linz, Austria. The 3-day seminar will provide know-how on local market development and technologies for automatic biomass heating, based on the experience in Upper Austria. The seminar programme is fully-focused on small- to mid-scale wood pellets and wood chip projects.

Cooperation with Vermont in the field of biomass OEC-News: May 2014

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the region of Upper Austria and the State of Vermont, facilitated by the OEC on the Austrian side and the Biomass Energy Resource Center at VEIC on the Vermont side. The MoU focuses on biomass heating and energy efficiency and ensures a long-lasting collaboration between the two regions. The activities encompass policy cooperation in this field, technological topics and training.

OEC biomass boiler manufacturers at the "North East Biomass Heating Expo" (USA) OEC-News: May 2014

The OEC and four biomass boiler manufacturers from the Oekoenergie-Cluster (Fröling, Hargassner, ÖkoFEN and Windhager) were present at the important conference/expo "North East Biomass Heating Expo" in Portland/Maine. They presented their products at the expo and are interested in the New England market with its significant potential for modern automatic biomass heating systems. Christiane Egger from the OEC team was invited as a keynote speaker for the conference.

Sunlumo sells simulation software in Asia & Africa OEC-News: May 2014

Sunlumo offers simulation programmes for PV and solar thermal systems. Products are available in India, Japan and southern African countries. Sunlumo’s partner ADS Projects & Systems Pvt. Ltd. looks after the on-site training for the Valentin solar energy simulation software.

ASiC: International Collaboration "Solar Cooling" OEC-News: January 2014

A new collaboration is being realised between ASiC and the Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSES), at the Australian National University in Canberra. Together, they aim to promote the international dissemination of solar cooling. The combination of the Australian scientists’ competence in the field of high-temperature concentrated solar collectors and Austria’s existing know-how in the field of cooling units makes up for a promising collaboration.

Sunlumo: Activities in China und at IEA OEC-News: January 2014

Sunlumo opened its second office in China. With its new locations in Hangzhou, one of the major economic centres of the country, Sunlumo can now offer optimal support to its customers and partners in Southern China and Hong Kong.

Sunlumo is working on Task 39 of the IEA’s Solar Heating and Cooling Programme. At a meeting Sunlumo presented the current status of the “Eine-Welt-Solar-Kollektors”.

FH Wels: new study programme OEC-News: January 2014

The Strasbourg INSA Institute and the FH Wels have collaborated in the development of a Franco-Austrian double-degree master's programme on eco-energy technology. This programme, which starts in October 2013, will allow students to acquire two academic master degrees.
